Man, woman and teen arrested on suspicion of murdering five-year-old boy pulled from river

A man, a woman and a boy have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a five-year-old boy pulled from a river in South Wales.

The boy’s body was found in Ogmore River near Pandy Park in Bridgend at 5.45am on Saturday morning.

A 39-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of murder, South Wales Police said.

All are from the Bridgend area and detectives say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

At the time of the discovery, Chief Inspector Geraint White said: “This is a tragic incident in which a young child has sadly lost their life.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information, to get in touch.

“We would ask the public not to speculate about this incident on social media as this is an active investigation.
